Upcycled Sparkly Peg Bag..

I love upcycling and creating something new that has a purpose.

I upcycled this new peg bag a while ago (upcycled new peg bag ).

I created a few years ago and It lasted a few year but towards the ends of last summer, it went a bit green with forgetting to bring it inside after using the pegs.

I brought a new plastic one from the shops and it lasted 2 week!! Grr...

The hook broke off it straight away. It only cost a few pounds, so you can hardly take it back to the shops for your money back; can you!?

Now it is time to up-cycle another one that will hopefully last as long as my pink one did. Or  lot longer than the plastic one did!

Recycled Flower Vase : Pot Pourri Holder..

I love this vase. So many different ways to use it. I brought from Ikea years ago. It only cost a £1.00 too.

So far it has been a vase for all my beautiful flowers that I have been brought me over the years. One time I popped dried pasta into to make an Autumn fun feature around Halloween with a candle in the middle. Whoo, and now I have turned it into a pot pourri holder.

A simple makeover to match my mood!! Also to match the season. Easy eh!?

Upcycling is so much fun and easy to make some look different without spending lots of money.

Do you like to upcycle too? If so, what kind of things do you like to upcycle.

5 Ways To Upcycle Old Jars...

I love to up-cycle old things and making them into some new and usable.

Glass jars are among my favourite things to up-cycle along with clothes and shoes!

The great thing with glass jars and bottles is that you can always pick up something a little different and they make the best things to upcycle.

Upcycling is good fun and my Daughter is always interested in learning how to make some old into something new and different. Also, the possibilities are endless, you just need an idea to start with.

Here are 5 ideas on how you can re-use those old jars to save throwing them away:

After School Run Treats : Weekly Photo Blog Hop..

After School Run Treats: Weekly photo blog hop.

After school, we all like to get straight out and do our run. Nothing easier than getting it done before you start to settle down for the night.

If you start to eat when you get in, you do not feel like running for an hour or two.

This week we have been baking and making some treat for after our runs are done. I was tidying out the kitchen cupboards and found hundreds of cupcake cases, so I thought I better make some cupcakes.

We all love cupcakes and fairy cakes. Topped with butter icing, cream or icing sugar and fruit, yummy!!

The Good. The Random. The Fun.

The school half term week has come and gone so quickly.

Blink and you missed it!! Time really does fly!

It has been a fun week but a really cold week here. It was lovely to see the sun out towards the end of the week!! Just before the children go back to school. The sun really does cheer you up, doesn't it?

I have been wrapping up warm, even when the sun is out as it ha been cold though.

Surprise : My Sunday Photo

My Sunday Photo was taken last week in Sherwood Pines. It is so lovely here. Have you ever been?

We were there so my husband and son could run Parkrun. One the run had started we went off to explore with Mollie. There is so much to see and do here, hidden among the trees.

We keep saying we will go up for a full day soon so we can all explore properly. Then we forget to make plans, like you do. Until we run another Parkrun and it is making plans to visit for the day again.

I went once on a very long bike ride with my friend. It was lovely riding through the cycle paths but I have never seen the log cabins yet. I can imagine it being great fun staying here.

My daughter always makes me laugh with the things she says and does. She is full of quick thinking answers to any questions and always has me in fits of laughter with the tings she does.

I asked her to pose for a picture and this is what she did!! Surprise, not a usual photo.

How cool are these trees?

Mollie can also run this Parkrun we have all ran it a few times and every few weeks lots of people run with their dogs too.

I would love to buy Mollie a proper dog harness so we can run more together too. She is after all one of my favourite running partners.

She is great running with me on trails like this but not good when cars are around near roads. She is so scared of cars she tries to chase them for some strange reason and round them up. It must be a Border Collie thing!?

Do you have any dogs?

Do they chase cars?

Sherwood Pines Parkrun..

Last Saturday I woke up feeling ill, so the Parkrun I had planned to do with my Son had to be postponed. My Son was disappointed.  So up to the plate stepped Hubby ( who had not done one for 2 years) and who normally was on dog walking, official photo duties.

I looked after Mollie the Collie and our Daughter, so they could run and we could watch. It was lovely to sit back and cheer everyone on. Seeing others work hard for a change.

Sherwood Pines is also home to Go Apes {in the background}. I am scared of heights, but I would like to have a go at this! It reminds me of the bridge in I'm a Celebrity. No sign of Ant or Dec though!!

Classic Orange Marmalade...

Today I am sharing a guest post; zesty orange marmalade recipe from Tate & Lyle.

"This delicious marmalade is perfect for spreading on your toast for a breakfast treat, or adding it to a cake to flavour your baking!"

Do you like to make your own jams and marmalade's?

I love to make up my own recipes and making my own marmalade is at the top of my list of things to try. I also love to up-cycle old jam jars.

So this is a great recipe to make up something sweet yourself and also use up your old glass jars.

Mollie The Border Collie Weekly Photo Blog Hop..

Mollie The Border Collie. Weekly Photo Blog Hop:

I was trying to take some photos of a project I was working on in the garden last week when somebody wanted a little attention!!

As I was bent down Mollie kept jumping on the back of my head. Then she kept going underneath me, trying to lick my face!! Want something do you, Mollie? I could not stop laughing at her. I hope no one was watching or they would think I was talking to myself.

I left what I was doing and Mollie posed for pictures!! She loves me taking pictures of her and she is such a natural poser. How beautiful is Mollie!? Look at her little sweet face. It looks like butter wouldn't melt!! Aww..

Such a natural poser!!

The Good. The Random. The Fun.

Happy Monday!! Have you had a fun weekend? We have here.

It is so cold here and I am trying my best to keep warm and cosy.  How about you, is it cold or warm where you live?

With the children off school for half term, we could do with it warming up a little!! We must run more, that will keep us warm for a little while. Also drinking lots of warm tea takes the chill away.

The Good. The Random. The Fun.

The Good:

My husband brought me 15 colour roses for Valentine's day and lots of chocolates. Yummy!! I am so lucky to have him and be spoilt too. Aww... I love these chocolates as you could guess from the loved one.

Upcycled Valentine Shoes...

Today I am sharing an outfit post with you and I am wearing my heart on my shoes, ha!!

I up-cycled some hearts onto these shoes a few years ago and I still love them.

Trouble is the shoes are a little bit tight around the toes. So they only get an outing around Valentines Day and special occasions.

Valentines Day Roses...

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Sugar is sweet,
 and so are you!

I remember making lots of Valentines day verse up at school. Oh my, looking back at my book now (30 years old) they were so funny.

Happy Valentines Day. I hope you are having a lovely day?

Any special plans for today? Is love in the air?  Did you receive any Valentine's Dat cards?

I have had lovely weekend especially a nice suprised gift on Friday from my Valentine was lovely.

My husband brought me 15 red, yellow and pink roses for Valentine's day when he came in from work on Friday. What a beautiful surprise!? I love roses, especially red ones.

The bouquet is stunning {Pictures of them all to come later this week!}.

I have enjoyed receiving them, taking lots of pictures of the, looking at them and arranging them into my glass vase.

I love roses and would love to grow them in my own garden. Trouble is I am worried that Mollie, my pet dog might eat them as she eats everything. I put some grass seeds down once and she kept sneaking outside to eat them!

I love this shot so much, I thought this picture would be perfect in black and white.I love how the water lays on the rose.

How Cool Is This Tree?

Getting the kids and the dog outdoors in Winter is not always easy. If it's not the wind, it's the cold. If it's not the cold it's the rain that keeps us indoors. Brr...

Never mind the dark nights after school.

Ever day feels like a task when it's really cold. I have to walk Mollie the Collie twice a day, no matter what the day is like.

Can you imagine how much she would pester me for a walk if I didn't take her!?

So I am used to being out in all weathers.

Both the youngest 2 are doing a run streak. So it's in from school and get your running clothes on, out the door straight away before it gets dark too. All go around here even in Winter.

It is lovely when the husband is off work.

Here he took my son out and Mollie for a walk and even remembered to take the camera with him.

Something I always forget!!

While I stayed indoor where it was warm and caught up on Twitter housework!!

There is so much fun to be had in the woods. Exploring and climb, especially when mum is not around, moaning about getting dirty!!

Black And White Photo Project..

Yesterday it was a lovely and crisp evening. Perfect for the weekend when it is time to let our hair down and the children do not have to go to school for a few days.

The sun was shining brightly, just a little chilly. Just what you want at this time of year. So lovely to get out walking or run in.

Me, my Son, Daughter and Mollie the Collie did a little run around a park where we use to live.

Brings back fond memories running around here. Thinking of growing up and how things used to look.

The park was completely different when I was a child. They had a really high climbing frame and outdoor swimming pool. I can imagine they were both removed for safety reasons nowadays.

I use to run a few laps around this park, years ago and thought I had run for miles. I bet twice round it is not even a miles either.

Black And White Photo Project:

My son needed to do a little further running than us and carried on for a while. We sat down and I told my Daughter stories of growing up here. She and Mollie just sat quietly, listing to what I was saying and watching the sun starting to go down.

After our run, it was a trip to see Grandma and Grandad who still live around here. Always lots of fun to go visiting family. Mollie the Collie goes wild when she sees someone she knows too.

I snapped a few pictures of my Daughter and Mollie.

I thought this one would be perfect in black and white to set the mood. What do you think of my photo?

Five On Friday..

I can not believe the children break up from school today for a weeks holiday!!

How quickly has this half term come around!?

One minute they are back to school the next they are on holiday again.

Not complaining though, I love having them at home with me.

Been a funny week, from it chucking it down with rain on Saturday {my sons race day} to being lovely and sunny yesterday.

Here are my favourite Five On Friday photos this week:

1.) Mud:

How muddy was it Saturday? When we set off to watch my son race it was lovely and dry. By the time we got to where my son was racing it did nothing but rain!! We all go muddy and very wet.

Not a day we will forget in a hurry.

Look at poor little Mollie. I just wanted to scoop her up and cuddle her. Guess who had a bath when she got home?

Chocolate Brownies..

We love anything chocolate-Y here and today I am sharing my 2nd oldest sons favourite chocolate brownies recipes. Something special about brownies, yum!! I think it must be the gooey chocolate soft centers!? They go together perfect with a nice glass of cold milk.

My son is now at Uni but he likes to make these for us when he is home. He eats really healthy at uni too.

Sometime brownies work out expensive when you have to buy chocolate to melt and chocolate to add in to them. These are just as tasty and you do not notice the extra missing chocolate. Plus we always have the ingredients at hand.

Shabby Chic Style : China Cups And Pearls..

Today I am sharing a few of my favourite shabby chic style things.

China cups and pearls!!

I have a bit of a thing for pretty china cups and plates. You can always pick them up cheap at a charity shop or car boot sale and they look beautiful to use or as ornaments on a shelve.

I love all things vintage too. I think they make a nice change to modern things and also hold some history to them too.

China cups are great for keeping bits of jewellery inside them. You can even jazz them up for any kind of table display.

Perfect for wedding, christening or any kind of quirky party. They would make a great centrepiece displays on any table full of flowers and pearls. Sweet idea!
